According to TMZ, there is a sex tape floating around of Iggy with an ex-boyfriend, of course Azalea denies it and claims it is a different woman on the video.
“You are guilty of misappropriating black culture, insulting peaceful protesters, and making light of Eric Garner’s death. @IGGYAZALEA,” another said, echoing Banks’ complaints about her rival.
The uproar started right after Azealia’s Hot 97 interview, where she was asked about the music industry’s take on black culture, Iggy Azalea, and The Grammy’s. When asked about her feeling towards the Australian female rapper, Banks stated that Iggy, with her mediocre flows, is unfairly lauded because she is white. Also, Banks voiced her frustration about Iggy’s lack of support for the black community after the deaths of Mike Brown and Eric Garner.
“That Iggy Azalea s**t isn’t better than any f*****g black girl that’s rapping today,” Banks said on the show.
Iggy Azalea’s rise to the top of the charts has been quite questionable this past year, along with rumors of covered up racism in songs, older interviews, and through tweets. (In her song D.R.U.G.S., she called herself a “runaway slave-master”, while doing a whipping gesture with her hand in the video) Fellow rappers Ra Digga and Q-Tip came in to the limelight to call out the pop-rapper on social media and in radio interviews, stating they do not support someone who mocks the culture. In 30 tweets, Q-Tip gave her a history on the culture of hip-hop’s place in society. He gave her the complete breakdown by even going back to the 70’s when hip-hop started in the Bronx.
Right now it appears that rapper TI is her biggest supporter but since he has a vested interest in her that may not be valid.
