In an interview with Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club, rapper and producer Safaree Samuels finally spoke his mind out his recently ended relationship with “Pink Print” rapper, Nicki Minaj.
Samuels decided to break his silence after Minaj made comments about him on Twitter calling him “corny” and was recently seen cuddling with MMG rapper Meek Mill. In the 45-minute-long interview Samuels made it clear that he walked away from the 12 year relationship because he felt that the respect in the partnership was lost and that he was being treated more like an employee.
“I walked away. I’m the one that packed my stuff and left. It just got to the point where the respect was lost. I was being treated as an employee and not her man,” said Scaf Beezy.
When asked what he was to Minaj he replied, “everything,” as he described how he and Minaj started off in a rap group and how they both packed up their belongings and moved to Atlanta to focus on her solo career. SB executive produced her album “Pink Friday” and even admitted to helping Minaj write some of her raps.
“Decisions weren’t made without me. That was my soul mate not just somebody I was working with. People thought oh I was just the hype man, nah me and her were calling all the shots,” said Samuels. “When it came writing raps it was me, her, and the beat.”
SB decided to speak out after he released “Paradise,” new song coupled with a music video and Minaj took to Twitter calling him corny. When asked if there would be any backlash he coolly replied that he would never disrespect Nicki Minaj or try to pull her down.
“All I’ve done is uplift you publicly. I think you are the most amazing person at what you do. I would say it when it’s just me and her or I would say it on stage in front of 20,000 people.”
Samuels admitted that he and Minaj have been separated for about four months and that it has been difficult moving on at times. He says that he isn’t interested in seeing anyone else at the moment and that he wants to focus on himself and moving on but, he was photo’d out with a hot model a few nights ago.
We reached out to our sources close to the two who stated that Samuels while very much still loves Nicki, he is not interested in rekindling their relationship as  he feels he has lost his own identity being in the relationship. According to the source, he will be eating off the work he has done with Nicki for a very long time.
