Video Alert: Formerly Known As Bertell Releases New Music Titled “Who Is Nino”

Nino, Carter House Music’s budding artist formally known as Bertell, recently released his debut independent album “Who is Nino” produced by DJ MLK and DJ Sense.

“Who is Nino” is a captivating and moving project that announces the arrival of a gifted singer with genuine talent. He was born in Melville, Louisville, a small town of 1,045 people but was raised in Houston. Nino attributes moving around a lot as a child and having an unstable physical life to him being able to find harmony by creating music.

“As a child we moved around quite a bit, I knew that my physical life was unstable sometimes. That’s when I started looking within, I created harmony within. I started writing songs in my head, and it took my interest in music to another level. I had to teach myself to play the piano so I could cut music to the ideas I heard in my head,” said Nino.

It wasn’t until he was in college that Nino decided to shar his talents with others. There was a piano in the cafeteria so Nino just sat down and decided to play it and sing everyone a song. He was pleased with the overall satisfaction of his listeners and a teammate of his suggested that he pursue a career in music if he didn’t make it as a professional basketball player.

By the spring of 2008, Nino linked up with Grammy award winning  producer Bryan-Michael Cox who assisted in relocating him to Atlanta to begin working on various projects. He began working with Mary J. Blige, Usher, Joe, Jagged Edge, and Monica. He also began to elevate his knowledge of the ins and outs of the music game, signing his first deal with Capital Records, and going through a total body transformation and losing 60 pounds.

The artist formerly known as Bertell made it to number 36 on the Urban Billboard charts with his single “Beat It Up” featuring Twista. He also collaborated with his label mate Bobby V on a song on the album “Fly on the Wall.” Since then Nino has moved on from his label and has began work as an independent artist. “Who is Nino” seems as if it is just the beginning for this aspiring artist who has the possibility of a bright future ahead of him. He has already put out a video for his single “She Love Me” featuring Yung Joc and just recently held a release party for the mixtape hosted be SESAC and Bryan-Michael Cox.

 “If I never achieve my vision of excellence, the one thing I will always have is my amazing journey and the amazing people I met along the way,” says Nino.
