It appears the Atlanta Police Department might have an evidence issue with proving that former Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star actually had weed in his possession when he was arrested by them yesterday. According to his criminal defense attorney Mawuli Davis who spoke exclusively with Hip Hop Enquirer, Raymond “Benzino” Scott states that the reports of weed being found in his car are false. While reports have circulated over the internet that drugs were found in his Maserati, cops state in their official police report that the drugs were found in a patrol car that Scott was initially placed in. His attorney also stated that Scott was searched by the cop before he was placed in the patrol car and it was a surprise to him that he was being charge for the drugs.
In the above video given exclusively to TMZ, Benzino allowed his attorney to explain what they believe will be a problem for a drug conviction.
As far as him driving with a suspended license, attorney Davis stated that Benzino didn’t even know that it was suspended and he immediately dealt with the suspension once he was released from police custody.
The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star and co-owner of Hip Hop Weekly is having an awful month to say the least. cannot seem to catch a break and stay out of trouble. Last month, Zino was arrested for allegedly bringing a loaded gun into an Atlanta airport and now he has been arrested again.
According to TMZ, Benzino was pulled over when an officer noticed he was not wearing a seat belt while driving. When the car Benzino was driving was searched, cops found a stash of marijuana inside. Mona Scott might want to reconsider her decision on removing Benzino from the show because clearly he has more drama off camera then most of the other cast members have had on camera. She mind as well capitalize off it. You think?
Raymond “Benzino” Scott has been charged with possession of marijuana, seatbelt violation, and driving with a suspended license. Bail is set at $2,269.00.
