Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star Ray J might be in a lot of legal trouble for attempting to sell a knock off version a top Swiss watch company. A favorite of celebrities like Jay Z, Lebron James, and more, watch brand Audemars Piquet sent Ray J a “cease and desist” letter to block him from releasing “his” version of the popular watch brand.
Audemars Piquet says that Ray J’s watch is a complete knock-off of their Royal Oak watch, both of the watches have similar qualities like the hexagonal screws in the corners of the octagon face.
Ray J was told he had until February 3rd to get rid of the watch but his manager David Weintraub is stating a release will be happening soon.
Audemars Piquet Royal Oak watch retails for $25,000.00 and Ray J’s proposed watches will cost between $150-$500. This sounds like the type of discount you could find on “Counterfeits Row” which is located on Canal street in New York City. Check out some of the celebrities below who might also take issue at Ray releasing his copy of the popular watch:
Founded in 1875, Audemars Piquet was created by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet in Switzerland. The two watchmakers both shared a passion for watches and the mastery of art they put in all of their pieces. Although, Audemar Piquet is one of the top Swiss watch companies, it is only one of the few that is still ran by the hands of its founding families.
