Charmayne Maxwell, Singer From Group Brownstone Dies

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - Season 4Charmayne “Maxee”  Maxwell from the R&B singing group Brownstone died over the weekend, after her son’s soccer game. According to TMZ, the 90’s singer had fallen and cut her neck on a piece of glass. Maxwell’s husband, music producer Carsten Soulshock, came home and found his wife on the floor unconscious and bleeding. He called 911, and she was taken to Cedars Sinai Hospital, but it was too late. Charmayne had died on the way to the hospital from losing too much blood.

Maxwell’s Younger brother mourned his sister on Instagram by saying, “R.I.P to my beautiful sister Charmayne ‘Maxee’ Maxwell,” he wrote, alongside a stunning photo of the late songstress. “I’m so devasted because you deserved to stay on this earth much longer. You had such an amazing talent and you went really far with your singing career. I felt so inspired from you and it gave me motivation to become the best performer I could be. I love you so much sis, I’m so grateful I was able to have you in my life.”

When the police arrived at the home and found out that the piece of glass that cut her was from a broken wine glass, the did not suspect any foul play.

Brownstone was a popular group in the 90’s who signed to Michael Jackson’s label MJJ and was known for popular hits like “If You Love Me” and “Grapvyne.”
