New Music Alert: Goodlife Music Presents “Family Ties”

Good Life Music Group drops, Family Ties hosted by Bigga Rankin and DJ Winn. The mixtape recorded in Atlanta features tracks from the labels artists FrontStreet, Law G, Issa, in-house producer T Black the Hit Maker. The project opens with the addictive ‘Family Ties,’ a supercharged club banger highlighting the struggles of the label artists; Issa, Law and FrontStreet.
Stand outs include club anthem: ‘I Need That,’ paying homage to the large bank accounts of Diddy, Young Money, and even Blue Ivy. The seductive, ‘Bang’ tells the story of a woman standing by her man and gives you a sultry modern take on trap sprinkled with strong elements of R&B compliments of songstress and late Left Eye protégé, T’Melle.
‘Dopeman,’ a crowd favorite with the streets going crazy where you can’t stop singing along to and particularly ‘Like You’ featuring Motown Records signee, Mila J are tracks for the ladies. The production pays homage to the erotic 2003 mid tempo sounds of R&B princess Mya’s “My Love Is Like… Wo,” while Issa, establishes skillful word play and impressive lyricism.
‘Know How It Feel’ highlights innovative, solid songwriting by FrontStreet whose previous accolades include receiving two gold records for his previous work on So So Def All Stars, and D4L/ Shawty Lo respectively.

Family Ties closes with the inspirational and thought-provoking ‘Whips and Chains’ performed by the labels youngest signee, Issa. In the current climate of American racial insensitivity, ‘Whips and Chains’ tells a compelling musical story with a slice of modern trap, infused with elements of rock and blues. Between the sharp synth beats and Issa’s passionate vocals, violence, disappointment and pain can be felt throughout the three-minute track. Family Ties embodies the fluorescent trap tones of Good Life Music Group signees: FrontStreet, Law G, Issa and T Black The Hit Maker so effectively, showcasing each individual’s talents and artistry like a blockbuster movie.
