It always gets fans excited when an artist announces the sequel to an album. Especially one that is highly revered by many fans and critics. Well that is exactly what The Game did when he originally looked to drop The Documentary 2 exactly 10 years after the first one. That date would have been January 18th 2015, a time that has come and gone but the album is still set to be released 10 years later except now on June 30th, corresponding with the birthday of The Game’s son.
Not entirely shocking as The Game is a proud father and his kids have been a clear source of inspiration for him. The Documentary was The Game’s debut album and also considered to be his best as well. Nonetheless, The Game spoke with REVOLT TV and said that when he listens to it now and he hears all the flaws and that, “I would have never did this song like that today…the old me was wack I’m dope now.” Interesting and perhaps real comments as he was very young and has learned so much since then. No one is going to debate if The Game is wack or not because with the longevity he has sustained he clearly is doing something right.
So far the only snippet of what to expect have come from the two tracks, “Ambitionz of a Ridah” featuring Dej Loaf and “Soundtrack” with Meek Mill. We also know that the production will be more than decent with the confirmation he has linked up with Scott Storch, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Just Blaze and of course Dr. Dre for the album, all who assisted with the first Documentary. If this truly is going to be a more seasoned version of his debut than we can expect a classic on June 30th.
