Kevin Gates has used the medium of Instagram to create a buzz. From admitting to sleeping with his cousin to kicking a woman out of his home for not giving his dog fellatio of all things. Well over the weekend the ‘I Don’t Get Tired’ rapper talked politics.
Niggas so stupid, talking ’bout a change gon come. [Since] Obama been in office I done buried more of my niggas and more family than I ever did in my life. All he did was fuck a nigga money up since he been in office. Please get this nigga out of office,”
Well there’s that. Not that anything Gates says about the president really holds any weight, but just actually adds to this idea the President, especially Obama, is responsible for every single thing that goes wrong in your personal life.
Somehow it is one man’s fault that Kevin Gates has had to bury more friends and family than ever before and Barack must be a hater the way he is getting at his pockets as well. He would go on to try and clarify his statement in another post:
“No money in the streets means beef, war in the streets, murder, mothers bury their children ya heard me, the crime rate rises.”
This is true, Gate’s channels some Aristotle as the Greek philosopher said, “Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime.” What is confusing is that the unemployment rate among black people has always been high, much to do with systematic discrimination. So why does Kevin Gates now blame President Obama for what has been going on for years on end? Well first here is a breakdown on how the government works Kevin.
Obama is not some black messiah, there is never going to be any ONE person that is going to solve the plight of black people living in America. The president can not make anyone kill themselves, and Kevin Gates is smarter than this. What Gates can do is tell the people back in the hood about the conditioning they have been born under and help them break that cycle. Put some of his money in those streets to help stop the violence and promote education. For a rapper who is never tired, he seems to be asleep on this issue.
