TIDAL has not been the massive revolutionary force in music streaming as advertised. While just over a launch into the endeavor, it already looks as one of the founders is distancing himself from the service. Kanye West changed his twitter avatar from the TIDAL logo to his old album cover. That is not a big deal until you realize that all TIDAL tweets have disappeared too.
The launch involved major forces in the music industry such as Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Beyonce’ and many others. It was criticized for coming off as some rich celebrities asking regular folk to pay a premium price on music streaming so they can become richer. TIDAL has been a flop thus far not even cracking the top 700 iTunes download charts while their competitors, Spotify, Beats Music and Pandora, continue to be thriving.
UPDATE
Kanye seems to be putting some support back into TIDAL. Either the word got back to him or his best buddy Jay-Z got in his ear, Kanye did put this tweet out early this morning.
The love of music is louder than words. http://t.co/dvYp0pl3An pic.twitter.com/1B4edv3jRl
