Sister Code is a hot new drama starring Eva Marcille, Drew Sidora, and the controversy ripe star Amber Rose.
There was an exclusive private screening held in downtown Atlanta for select viewers to get a sneak peak at the the movie before it hits theaters on May 8.
Marcille, Sidora, and Rose co-star in the movie as three foster sisters raise by a caring and loving mother who taught them the importance of being bonded as sisters even without sharing the same blood. The three would remain close as they entered into their own lanes of adulthood.
Marcille would play the role of Sheila, the bossy, success driven sister who is struggling finding a relationship. Sidora plays Lavae, the oldest and most balanced of the three who struggles to keep her younger sisters from tearing each other apart. And Rose plays the role of Lexi, the promiscuous sister seen on the big screen usually clad in her lingerie who is trying to pursue her dreams as a designer in her own unique way (sound familiar?).
After the film a few members of the cast and crew sat down with the audience for a brief question and answer session. Don Hale Jr. who is credited for a portion of the screenplay and also plays the role of Brian in the film talked about the initial inspiration for the film came in living room of the writer, Walter Mosley Jr.
Marcille discussed her role as Sheila which she said she felt that essentially her and Sheila are the same person as far as their attitudes towards life, business, and success goes.
The film also stars Marcus T. Paulk (from Moesha), Anne-Marie Johnson, Amin Thomas, Sade Kimora Young, Essence Atkins, Erica Ash, Asia Monet Ray, and Laya DeLeon Hayes.
Sister Code is a fun lighthearted drama that may fly under the radar in the box offices but it can still be considered a refreshing chick flick or a date night movie for couples.
