The Publix Supermarket Donates $25K and 8 Tractor Trailers of food To “Hosea Helps”

    On Monday April 27, 2015 The Publix Supermarkets presented Hosea Helps (Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless) with a monetary donation totaling $25, 000 in the name of the “Food for Sharing Program.” The supermarket assisted those in the Atlanta community with four tractor trailers of food, dry goods and dairy products. Publix has four more tractor trailers that will be delivering on May 6th, in an effort to fight against homelessness.

    Publix is taking donations for its “No Summer Hunger” to help combat child hunger. Donations range from $4.73 to $13.48. The amount for the recipe selected will be scanned into the register as a part of the customers’ receipts. As a token of appreciation a Food for Sharing reusable bag will be given to customers who donate to the program.

    Since 1971 Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless has provided a number of services such as rent
    assistance, medical support, transportation, nutritional services and more to Atlanta families. It is the goal of the organization to inspire citizens nationwide to lend a hand to those in their communities.The next major event held by Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless will be the Back-To- School Jamboree taking place in July 2015. The Jamboree will provide backpacks to children filled with school supplies including paper, pencils and more. Donations to the Back-To-School Jamboree are currently being accepted.
