Tom Hanks has a son who raps under the name Chet Haze. Not a big deal right? Well Chet Haze also likes to use the word nigga, see the problem here now? Chet kicked off this firestorm when he was on instagram with the following caption:

“2 types of people in this world: those who know exactly what it is they want and are doing everything they can to get it; and those who just wander aimlessly through life because they are scared to death of failure,” he wrote on Sunday. “I’ve lost a lot of so-called friends cuz they turned out to be the second kind fuck yall hating ass niggaz I’ll never stop chasing my dream”

Oh okay then, well Chet did not do the typical apology or say he was hacked…no no no he did the exact opposite and defended his use of the word. Saying that it is not exclusive to black people.

[Tweet “Is @chethaze just that stupid or does he make a valid point using the N-word?”]

“If I say the word n***a I say it amongst people I love and who love me. If I say ‘f*ck yall hatin ass n****z’ it’s because that’s really how I felt at the time. And I don’t accept society getting to decide what ANYBODY can or can’t say. That’s something we call FREE SPEECH. Now I understand the older generation who grew up in the Jim Crowe era might have strong feelings against this. And that’s understandable… But what I’m saying is this is 2015… And even tho we are still far from where we need to be and black people are still being literally KILLED by a RACIST and fucked up system… We have also reached a point where the word can no longer have a negative connotation if we so choose. And who is to say only black people can use it?What do you think?
The way I see it, it’s a word that unifies the culture of HIP-HOP across ALL RACES, which is actually kind of a beautiful thing. It’s a word that can be used out of camaraderie and love, not just exclusively for black people. What’s the point in putting all these built up ‘rules’ about it. It’s time to let go. You can hate me or love me for it, but can’t nobody tell me what I can or can’t say. It’s got nothing to do with trying to be a thug. It’s about the culture of the music. And that’s all I have to say about that (no pun intended) lol. It’s all love. Some people will get it, some people won’t. Either way, Ima keep living my life however the f*ck I want. ALL LOVE.”

Do you not love it when a white person tries to justify using the word nigga? It has never made any sense why some feel the need to have to use the word as if it makes them cool or something. There also may need to be a re-schooling on what free speech actually is. Yes, you are free to say what you want but that is only from government censorship, the general public can and will still hold you accountable for any mess that comes out your mouth.

Haze has even lost a friendship over his unapologetic use of the word. Scrilla King who has been his friend for 6 years has cut ties with him. Telling TMZ that, “He wakes up thinking he can be black today and know what we go through. He doesn’t. I wake up black every day, he does not.” Issue here is if he has been your friend for 6 years and he has been using the word then you should have let that be known the first time you were not going to let it fly.

Chet Haze or Chester Hanks is going to try to capitalize off this somehow, he is a rapper after all. A struggling rapper but a rapper none the less. But if Chet just thinks he can keep using the N word because it is 2015 and ‘you can’t tell him nothing’? He might as well try to star in a sequel to Malibu’s Most Wanted, he seems more suited to be an actor anyway.

Note: We are sure those guns he is posted up with are licensed and registered. He’s not that gangsta or is he?
