The surviving members of gangsta rap group NWA will hit the stage together for the first time in 26 years at a Los Angeles concert according to an interview in Rolling Stone with the group’s founding member Ice Cube.
“It’s just gonna be a great night,” Ice Cube told Rolling Stone. “We’re gonna be there with Snoop, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q. It’s just gonna be one of those ‘I wish I were there in L.A. nights.’ And we’re gonna rock that shit, no problem” he said.
Ice Cube, along with MC Ren and DJ Yella will perform their many hits at the Staples Center for the BET Experience on June 27th. The reunion comes just before the release of the Straight Outta Compton the N.W.A biopic that Ice Cube co-produced with Dr. Dre and Eazy-E’s widow, Tomica Woods-Wright according to Rolling Stone.
Even though Dr. Dre wasn’t included in the announcement his appearance was hinted through Cube with him saying, “You know, if you wish upon a star, you never know.”
This is a must see reunion.
