Today, Karrueche Tran sat down with Madame Noire for an exclusive interview. During the interview she brought up her experience living the single life after dating Chris Brown and a longtime family secret about her father’s sexuality.
“I don’t think I’ve ever told anybody this, but my father is gay. I think I’ve never told anybody just because I don’t realize that that’s not necessarily normal. I’ve just kind of always known and then as I grew older we had certain talks with my mom and it was just what it was.” Said Tran.
“I knew from like middle school, even elementary school. I knew something was different and I don’t know how I even knew what gay was, being so young. I think when you’re younger, you catch on to things and you kind of get the hang of it. I’ve just kind of always known, and then as I grew older, we had certain talks with my mom, and it was just what it was.”
Karrueche also mentioned what the Jenner family is going through right now, when Caitlyn made her debut. “It kind of touched me a bit,” she said when she watched the Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s special on the topic. “I understood their pain and where they were coming from. Not a lot of people go through those things.”
She made sure she closed out her interview with a positive message after sharing something so personal by saying: “Love conquers all. It doesn’t matter what race, what age, how you look or anything… Love is love.”
