The MTV Video Music Awards for 2015 nominations were announced today. Nicki Minaj was nominated for ‘Best Female Video’ and ‘Best Hip Hop’ video. But there were two other categories that confused Nicki and her Barbz as to why she was not in that category for ‘Anaconda’.
The ‘Video of the Year’ and ‘Best Choreography’ categories snubbed the video even though it has been viewed over 480 million times and set a Vevo record for most views in 24 hours. She also noticed the complete omission of the ‘Feeling Myself’ video with Beyonce’.
Hey guys @MTV thank you for my nominations. Did Feeling Myself miss the deadline or…?

Now ‘Feeling Myself’ dropped exclusively on Tidal, so to play devil’s advocate that can be accepted as a reason. However, the other points are very valid.
If I was a different "kind" of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well.

Ellen did her own anaconda video and did the #choreo lol. Remember her doing that kick . Even mtv did a post on the choreo @MTV remember?

U couldn't go on social media w/o seeing ppl doing the cover art, choreo, outfits for Halloween…an impact like that & no VOTY nomination?

When the "other" girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.

The amount of parodies and views prove that ‘Anaconda’ was more than worthy of a nomination. In a day in age where music videos are not a shared experience anymore, we all can choose what we watch instead of sitting through countdown shows, Nicki’s video for ‘Anaconda’ is about as close as you can get. It truly is one of the few videos that you can remember and talk about with a stranger and should have been nominated for ‘Video of the Year’.
‘Best Choreography’ is more appalling, how does MTV not appreciate twerking?
