“If you weren’t there, you missed something historical,” says Akon of the inaugural Passport Experience Fest, which took place on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Atlanta’s historical Centennial Olympic Park. Despite the threat of rain, the event saw close to 2,000 music fans proudly representing all four corners of the world, matching the international talent on stage.

Headliners Gyptian (Jamaica), Ying Yang Twins (US), OC (Zambia), Timaya (Nigeria) and more delivered lively performances, some even bringing out guests. In total, PXP Fest featured more than 20 performers and DJs representing 10 different countries, without a single discordant moment.

Organized by International DJ Fully Focus, the Passport Experience Festival sought to bridge culture through music and be the first truly international music festival to take place in an unprecedented way in Atlanta, a city which now boasts the 11th highest foreign-born population in the country at nearly 725,000. “The goal was peace and unity through music, and that’s exactly what we achieved,” said Fully Focus. “We put this event together in less than two months! And I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Now, on to planning PXP Fest 2016.”

A portion of each ticket sold has been used to contribute Akon Lighting Africa, the Konvict Music boss’ solar power initiative working to bring electricity to 25 countries by 2016.
