The West Coast G Funk sound is always going to have a place in hip hop as it always sounds good. It also seems the pioneers have brought that sound back intentionally as Dr. Dre is dropping his Compton:The Soundtrack this week and Warren G is dropping a sequel to his 1994 west coast classic Regulate…G Funk Era.
Regulate…G Funk Era II, is being released August 6th and we are blessed to a Nate Dogg hook. Nate Dogg passed away in 2011 and much of what he recorded seems to have been kept stashed away until now. The song also features Bun B and Jeezy who for southern artist work well on the G Funk sound.
