Rondo “Rowdy” Rousey has been the talk of the boxing world/internet as she refuses to cease the tension between the heavy-weight champion Floyd Mayweather claiming she could beat him (anyone) in a rule-less fight.
But, no rules means Judo could be performed right?
According to ESPN, this past Monday, Rowdy was asked by a fan on an Ask Me Anything chat on Reddit if she think she could take Mayweather out in a no-holds-barred bout.
The woman bantamweight champion gave her prideful response,
“Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time,” she admits. “He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don’t get into ‘matches.’ I fight for a living. In a no-rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet. Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that’s my honest answer.”
In winning the Best Fighter ESPY over Mayweather during ESPN’s countdown red-carpet pre-show, Rowdy wondered how the historical champion who beat Pacquiao in the ring, felt about getting “beat by a woman for once.”
When asked whether he could beat Rowdy in a fight with no boundaries, Mayweather mentioned a year before losing to Rowdy at the ESPYs that he “didn’t know who he is.”
Mayweather responded to the controversy via SportsCenter , “I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me.”
On the other hand, Mayweather has announced to duo Andre Berto in the ring this September breaking his professional record of 49 wins from 49 fights.
Rowdy recently defeated Bethe Correia August 1st and now holds the 8th place on Forbes List highest paid women in sports.
