Chicago Bulls Star Derrick Rose is being sued by an ex-girlfriend, who claims that he and his two friends drugged and gang-raped her.
According to TMZ, the woman, dated the point guard from 2011 to 2013. Around that time, she says that Rose pressured her into becoming involved in sexual acts with strangers, but she refused. Rose’s accuser says the two continued to date after that incident, until August 2013. The unnamed woman was allegedly invited to Rose’s Beverly Hills home along with his friend Ryan Allen and manager Randall Hampton, than claims that a drug was slipped in her drink.
The woman said she escaped from the house, but later that night Rose and his two friends broke into her home and began raping her while she was incapacitated. In her lawsuit, she said she only remembers “flashes” of the incident, but clearly remembers the face of the people involved.
Derrick Rose’s victim says she waited two years because she was afraid her conservative family would find out and was ashamed.
Derrick Rose’s attorney Lisa Cohen says that the lawsuit is “an attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete.”
Cohen also adds that victim and basketball star were in a “non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship for two years” and that there were never any complaints until lawyers started telling her to go after Rose for money. Cohen also adds that the women has hired three lawyers to go after Rose.
Cohen says, “We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated.
