Houston’s very own Cee-Won X shows & proves on his latest release, “The Excursion II: A Poet In the Land of Cruel Intentions.” Filled with social and political subject matter, sample-based production, and what many call a classic ’90s Hip Hop sound, “The Excursion II: A Poet In the Land of Cruel Intentions” began in 2013 as the follow up to Cee-Won X’s debut mixtape from earlier that same year “The Excursion, Volume One.” Despite his lack of a budget, Cee-Won X decided to go a more original route seeking producers who could create the right sound and quality for his next project. NYC-based producer Shepard would handle the bulk of the production on the project and former guitarist for post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance/current guitarist for Strawberry Girls, Zac Garren would handle mixing/mastering.
