Pursuant to a court order, The City of Chicago was forced to release the dash cam video showing Chicago cop Jason Van Dyke killing 17-year old teen Laquan McDonald. In the video you can clearly see that McDonald wasn’t posing a threat when he was shot a total of 16 times by Van Dyke. Earlier today, Jason Van Dyke was formally charged with 1st degree murder. The video was available to prosecutors for over 400 days and there appeared to be enough evidence based on eye-witness accounts as well as this video to charge the cop over a year ago. When the shooting first took place, cop alleged that McDonald lunged at him with a knife which clearly was not the case from what we can see in this video.
