Marshawn Lynch, shot by celebrity director Taj Stansberry Oakland, California, has notoriously been at the helm of negative press with gang violence and street crime dominating headlines, however that hasn’t stopped emerging artist SteveLan writing and performing what’s fast becoming Oakland’s street anthem. “My City” featuring Mistah Fab and H.U, is an honest account about everyday life growing up in Oakland (whether it’s perceived as good or bad), with a special appearance by NFL superstar, Oakland native, Marshawn Lynch.
“My City” opens with a news telecast heard in the background of a recent criminal act taking place in the community. A preface to Mistah Fab and H.U.’s verse accounting the problems within the inner city neighborhoods of Oakland California. Setting the tone for the hook in which SteveLan raps:

Shot on location throughout various neighborhoods in Oakland, “My City,” directed by celebrity favorite, Taj Stansberry (Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Rick Ross) encompasses a lyrical depiction of everyday life living within the inner city neighborhoods of Oakland California. Shot on a single red camera Taj Stansberry effortlessly depicts Oaklands gritty surroundings capturing the true essence of the unglamorous lifestyle and hardship within the community in a 3-minute visual summation.
“SteveLan, Fab and H.U. put on for the Town with this one and Taj made it into a movie.” Says Marshawn Lynch who makes an appearance in the video, showing support and pride for his hometown.
Born and raised in East Oakland, SteveLan lyrically encapsulates the tone and energy of the streets, to the backdrop of production duo Fresh Killers (E-40, Too $hort) combining a winning match “My City” is the first single off SteveLans EP #juskeepwrkn due out Spring 2016.
