Legendary “Quiet Storm” Dj Vaughn Harper Dead at 71

    harper10n-1-webNY W.B.L.S. radio station legendary late night DJ Vaughn Harper has died at the age of 71. He and co-host Champaine reigned the airwaves with some smooth sounding r & b hits and classics that was a hit for many New Yorker’s.

    Officials at the radio station confirmed his death via a tweet which stated:

    The popular “Quiet Storm” show was launched in the early 1980’s and Harper remained at the station until 2008. He suffered a stroke in 1993 which some thought would end his career but he later returned to the airwaves doing short stints at WWRL, WBGO and WTJM before rejoining the station that started his career. An avid basketball player standing 6’4, Harper was almost selected to play for the NBA in Detroit.
