Battling past life’s adversities losing several of his family members in a short period of time not long ago, H-Town rapper Show Louis returns with a new video for his song “Mahalia.”
On the track Show Louis repeats a hook honoring his late mother as he vibes out to the song in a seemingly familiar Houston visual punctuated by scenes of the ‘hood, urban cowboys, country front yards and ’round the way girls.
“In the process of recording the project I was working everyday to make a better song. I got a beat from some guys and I put the lyrics to it,” Show Louis said. “It’s been one of my most personal songs it’s factual and it talks about all the things I went through. ‘Mahalia’ comes from Sunday mornings when my mother would talk to me about life and I associate it with her and everything I went through. All the stuff we talked about I ended up experiencing” Show Louis explained.
The track also hits home to Show Louis as one of the girls featured in the video was tragically murdered after filming, so the visual is a dedication to her in as a whole.
“The video means a lot to me because she passed away and it was one of the last times I saw her when we shot the video,” Show Louis said.
Relying on his music as a way to escape the struggles of reality, Show Louis poured his heart into his debut effort Love & Drugz as the weed filled heart on the album artwork for Love & Drugz suggests. The project is avaiable anywhere via all of the streaming services Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music and several others.
