During an “arranged” plea deal last month, Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda told Manhattan judge Abraham Clott that he was forced into accepting a plea deal by his attorney Alex Spiro and that he didn’t want to accept it.

The fact that he was earlier being held on a 2-million dollar bail for the charge might lend some credibility to his claim.

The rapper then turned to his lawyer and said “I don’t want to drop my plea and I want to fire you” His lawyer stood beside the rapper looking baffled and his request went on deaf ears with the judge has he imposed the agreed upon plea deal. It is not uncommon in the criminal justice system that many people have been in Shmurda’s similar position being told that taking a plea is the best outcome. Based on these latest developments, the rapper will likely file an appeal with the state.

Bobby Shmurda’s, real name is Ackquille Pollard, initially alleged that the weapon he was carrying at the time of his arrest was just a prop that he was going to use for a video shoot.

New York State has one of the strictest gun laws and it is likely based on those laws, he likely did receive a decent deal. His smash hit song “Hot Nigga” has over 256 million views on youtube now.
