Los Angeles prosecutors are trying to put the brakes on DeAndre Cortez Way aka Soulja Boy’s upcoming bout with Chris Brown by way of several criminal charges. The controversial rapper was charged with criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of an assault weapon and receiving stolen property. The assault weapon in question was a Mini Draco AR-15 which is outlawed in California. Soulja Boy faces up to 4 years if he is convicted of the felony charges.

All these charges stem from when police raided his home back in December 15, 2016. The celebrity boxing match between Soulja Boy and Chris Brown is scheduled to take place outside the country but that may not happen now because of his upgraded bond conditions.

    Story developing.
