Reportedly, singer Janet Jackson has split with her husband Wissam Al Mana of five years due to long time unreleased marital issues, and it sure looks like it’s shaping up to be a pretty messy divorce seeing as though just three months ago the couple welcomed their son Eissa, into the world. However, interestingly enough earlier this year Jackson canceled all touring and musical show commitments, telling media and fans that she needed to focus more on getting her family together; now fans are wondering what she meant by this and if conceiving a child in an unhappy home was the best choice.

Janet later put her critics to rest saying that while both she and her husband have decided to go their separate ways they will still proceed to co-parent their son saying quote, “We’re both busy people but determined to be good parents, even if apart.” Then, Janet later contradicts this statement, when a source close to the family reveals that Eissa will stay with her permanently even as she plans on staying in London for a while. So much for co-parenting!

Still, what really has fans starting to speculate is how the couple’s wealth will be divided, seeing as though Jackson alone has an estimated personal fortune of around $175 million, stemming from her 30-year music career, her now former husband Qatari businessman Al Mana has a fortune somewhere around four times greater than Jackson’s, leaving many to ask if the couple had a prenuptial agreement.

TMZ has reported that in fact, they do or did, leading to more questions, the real buzz surrounding the fact that the agreement was structured to span 5 years, which means after that point the money is to be divided amongst the two parties. Seeing as though Jackson deciding to leave the relationship at the five-year mark, it is quite clear that she may have been strategically interested in the larger payout.

Social media is having a field day with this gem of information… what do you think is Janet’s motivation, is she driven by money?
