That’s right, folks! The R&B singer and also Grammy nominated recording artist is helping host an opening event today in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky to give back to his original stomping grounds.
The singer has had an already ongoing partnership with the popular sportswear brand Nike for some time now and is now presenting a fully refurbished basketball court to his hometown at Wyandotte Park.
Afterwords, there are plans to celebrate the new and improved playing court with three hours of basketball skill clinics for the children in the surrounding and local area. After those activities, the artist plans to perform another pop-up show located at the Louisville Mercury Ballroom where he will showcase new music off of his most recent #1 debut album that was entitled True to Self.
Bryson has mentioned that his favorite quote and or saying is “It’s Possible Here” that also happens to be written on the new basketball court’s sidelines.
Those three words hold a special place in the Louisville native’s heart because he always remembers flying into his hometown and seeing a sign that never ceases to say that same quote.
He recalls the very first time that he noticed the sign was when he was first working on the production behind his debut album and he says that “I just thought, ‘Wow, it is possible here.'” He goes on to say that “Everybody always thinks you have to move out of the city and go where the music industry is, but it’s possible in Louisville, and it’s possible anywhere. You just have to believe.”
The singer will return to the stage during his upcoming Set It Off Tour in August located in Atlanta, Georgia before eventually concluding with a last stop in his hometown at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center for a grand finale.
