The Migos tore down the clubs and the charts this year with their collaborative smash “Walk It, Talk It” with Drake from their platinum Culture II album but Durham. NC emcee M.O.S. is calling a flag on the hit single and has accused the Atlanta trio of jacking his 2007 underground banger “Walk It Like It Talk It.”
That’s right, M.O.S. claims his version was released in 2008 on the DJ Folk hosted mixtape It’s Like A Movie and he wants to be paid. The trap anthem also featured fellow North Carolina rapper B $tack$.
In documents obtained by TMZ, M.O.S., whose real name is Leander C, Pickett, is suing Capitol Records and the “Bad and Boujee” hit makers. M.O.S. claims he heard the alleged biting violation back in January when Culture II dropped and his suit claims the Top 10 Billboard hit uses a “substantial portion” of the song. The lawsuit was filed in March and also calls for the group to stop performing the track.
M.O.S. was a former protégé of early Jay Z beatsmith Ski Beatz and previously worked with the late Ensayne Wayne. Ensayne Wayne was the older brother of platinum producer Drumma Boy who was murdered in February.
As the NC rapper prepares to do battle with Quality Control’s three-headed monster, check out the two versions and decide for yourself if M.O.S. has a solid case.
