Federal agents have arrested Daniel Hernandez aka Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 69 along with his former manager Shottie and bodyguard Faheem Walter on federal racketeering charges.  Walter was previously charged with gang violence last week as a result of a shooting that occurred during a #FreeTekashi celebration in New York City.

The timing of the arrest and the recent announcement by Tekashi that he has fired his entire team could all be a coincidence or perhaps the rapper was trying to distance himself from all the drama his crew brings. Whatever the case, federal agents consisting of ATF, Homeland Security and NY’s hip hop police decided that there was enough evidence to arrest his crew.

“A spokesman for Manhattan U.S. Attorney said Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was busted along with three others, Kifano (Shotti) Jordan, Jensel (Ish) Butler and Faheem (Crippy) Walter.”

This recent arrest will likely trigger state probation charges for Hernandez as the judge in his previous sexual assault case made it clear to the rapper that he must stay clear of trouble.

The rapper will be formally be arraigned this afternoon in NY Federal court. This is a developing story.
