Rapper Lil Nas X released yet another remix of his hit single Old Town Road which features Billy Ray Cyrus, Mason Ramsey and Young Thug.
The 20-year-old most recently released his 7 EP on June 21, which features popular songs such as Panini and Rodeo with Cardi B. Additionally, this remix comes after Lil Nas came out as gay on the last day of Pride month.
Old Town Road currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has been there for about 14 weeks, with 13 of those weeks including the Billy Ray Cyrus remix. If the song remains in the No. 1 spot for three more weeks, it will become the longest running No. 1 single in history, according to XXL Magazine. Only two songs have outlasted 14 weeks at No. 1, making their peak at 16 weeks: Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s One Sweet Day (1995-1996) and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito featuring Justin Bieber (2017).
Hoping to surpass both songs, Lil Nas released the highly anticipated remix featuring Thugger and internet sensation Mason Ramsey, along with the previous contributions of Billy Ray. He teased the collaboration earlier, which was highly anticipated, and even expressed how much Young Thug has impacted his music. Responses on Twitter have been extremely positive, particularly concerning Ramsey’s verse in which he states “If you don’t got no giddy up, then giddy out my way.”
