Swedish prosecutors are now asking the judges to impose a 6-month jail sentence for A$AP Rocky, saying that he should be judged harshly because he reportedly threw a bottle at the alleged victim in the altercation which took place on the streets of Sweden.
The bottle has been used as the main piece of evidence in the prosecution’s case, as they claim he severely injured the alleged victim by throwing the bottle at him, according to TMZ. They also state that this was excessive force and unjustified.
However, two eye witnesses recently stated that they did not see the rapper strike the victim with a bottle. They both said that they heard a bottle being “crushed”, however they do not know the circumstances or who did it. One witness also said that they did not even see Rocky holding a bottle during the altercation, even though he admitted that he was holding it but did not throw it. He was also caught on camera with the bottle hidden in his sleeve.
The two eyewitnesses admit to seeing Rocky and his crew beating and kicking the alleged victim, however.
Prosecutors told the judge that the victim’s injuries prove the force Rocky used was excessive, and suggested that just punches and pushes would have been justified. They are pushing to keep him behind bars, despite President Donald Trump’s attempts, as they state that he continues to be a flight risk.
The judges will possibly decide on Friday whether or not Rocky should be released while they come to a verdict. This could potentially take a week.
