Just a day after Nicki Minaj got into it with Joe Budden on her Queen Radio series, she appeared on his podcast and called him out for instigating beef between her and Cardi B for their Motorsport collaboration.
Many fans believe that Minaj also shaded Cardi during the podcast, as she bragged about her “authentic come-up.” She goes on to talk about how she was able to become successful purely from her talent, and no other avenues such as reality TV shows or having a strong social media presence. “I still had to go through these things because of people like you who made a sport out of tearing down a young, black woman who’s done nothing but come in this game with an authentic come-up,” she said in response to Budden.
She went on to say, “writing raps, and doing what the fuckin’ was really necessary. No Instagram, no reality shows, no sucking DJs’ dicks.”
Cardi notably got her start on Love & Hip Hop and used the show to promote her music and gain fans. Minaj also furthered speculations that she was talking about Cardi when she told Budden, “I would feel so fucking crazy if I had No. 1s and Grammys and ain’t on nobody’s top 50 list”.
Fans think this was another attempt to throw shade at Cardi, as she has multiple No. 1 singles, a No. 1 album, and received a 2019 Grammy for Best Rap Album, Invasion of Privacy. However, Cardi was not listed in Ebro Darden’s list of the top 50 rappers of all time.
The Be Careful rapper took to Twitter to post a screenshot of a worldwide sales update. She captioned the photo “One year and some change later and my album is still SELLING .Only list I give a fuck about .Have a beautiful day everybody”
The beef between the two female rappers appears to be ongoing. Minaj has not yet responded to Cardi’s post.
