Ezekiel Elliot will not be charged over his altercation with a security guard which occurred in Las Vegas earlier this year.

The 24-year-old was seen arguing with his girlfriend on May 19 at the Electric Daisy Carnival, according to TMZ. Shortly after, the two were seen speaking with event staffers. Elliot later shoved Kyle Johnson, who was working as a security guard, causing him to fall over a metal railing during the parking lot altercation.

Elliot was placed in handcuffs following the incident, but was not arrested, as Johnson decided not to press charges. However, after Elliot was not suspended by the NFL for the altercation, Johnson chose to file a police report.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department attempted to gather evidence throughout the month of July, but according to police documents, they decided that they will not move forward with charges and will close the case. Elliot has yet to make a statement about this.

This legal battle comes amid Elliot’s contract holdout with the Dallas Cowboys. He is reportedly waiting for a contract extension from the Cowboys that could potentially make him the highest-paid running back in the history of the NFL. Elliot has not yet practiced with the team or played in a preseason game. Also demanding more money from Dallas is fellow teammate Dak Prescott, who is asking for a league-record $40 million annually.

The Cowboys start the NFL season on Sept. 8 against the New York Giants.
