Bronx rapper and activist Hasan Harris, known professionally as Hocus 45th, seems to have finally had enough of the online squabbling with fellow Bronx rapper Cuban Link. In fact, he’s ready to take their feud from Instagram threads to boxing gloves, calling Cuban Link out for a charity boxing match. Adding even more spice to this Bronx showdown, he’s invited legendary rapper and “Cheaters” reality show host Peter Gunz to referee. Because who better to catch some cheating punches?

The latest beef (or tofu, since Hocus 45th is a proud vegan) was sparked when Hocus took to social media platform Threads, accusing Cuban Link of scamming an aspiring rapper, Ble$$boy, out of $1,000.00 for a music feature that never materialized. Apparently, Cuban Link might have ghosted quicker than a Bronx landlord after the first of the month. Attempts to reach Cuban Link for comment were unsuccessful, leading some to wonder if he’s already busy training or simply dodging more than calls.

Hocus 45th first emerged in the hip-hop scene as part of the rap collective Bang Bang Boogie in the early 2000s, alongside notable artists like Mysonne, Lord Tariq, and yes, Cuban Link. The group famously received support from 50 Cent and G-Unit, setting the stage for what was expected to be a meteoric rise.

However, in 2008, Harris found himself indicted on conspiracy charges, leading to a four-year stay at the not-so-prestigious accommodations of Rikers Island, from which he was eventually acquitted in 2012. While behind bars, Hocus 45th notably embraced veganism, perhaps finding kale smoothies a preferable option to prison meals. Since his release, he has passionately promoted a healthier lifestyle alongside his advocacy work in justice reform and youth empowerment.

Musically, Hocus 45th has collaborated with hip-hop heavyweights like DMX and Styles P, and dropped tracks such as “Blazin Billy.” He even documented his life journey in the aptly titled “The King of the Castle.” Clearly, Hocus isn’t afraid of a good fight, whether it’s on record or in the ring.

While we wait to see if Cuban Link accepts this challenge or continues playing hide and seek, one thing is clear: the Bronx is buzzing, and the popcorn (or vegan snacks) are ready.
