On Saturday March 29th, over 250 runners, supporters and more attended Kile’s World 1st Anniversary 5K Run/Walk Spring Festival held at Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Tameka Raymond along with the Kile’s World Foundation hosted the occasion. The event was in held in honor of Tameka’s son, Kile Glover, who lost his life in a tragic jet-ski accident in 2012.
Saturday’s celebration was definitely a family affair as this was an event for all ages. Kids who attended the event enjoyed face painting activities, arts and crafts, free hot dogs, and much more.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the foundation’s art-based camps and workshops, which will include: singing, dance, music production digital media, and art and illustration.
Kile’s spirit lives on through his mother as she looks to expand the foundation in his name to create an environment for the young and talented to grow and flourish. “Kile is and will always be my muse,” says Raymond of her son. “He inspires me to do great things both artistically and in general to help others. He was a guiding genius.”
Fun fact – Our EIC finished #35 out of 250 runners in the 5k run.
