During the summer months, there is nothing better then enjoying a relaxing day in the sun with some chill beats to match the mood. Some newer artists have begun experimenting with rapping over alternative beats, which has become an increasingly popular genre on college campuses. This music has a West-Coast feel that former Sublime fans will love. Here are two of our new favorite artists that we believe are definitely worth checking out.
Radical Something:
Radical Something is a new band created with two separate solo artists that include Loggy, and Josh Cocktail produced by DJ Big Red. The band sounds like a combination of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kid Cudi. Their music has a mainly acoustic feel with some hip-hop influence as well. Some of our favorite tracks include “Be Easy,” and the freshly released single “Escape.”
Cris Cab:
Cris Cab is a new artist from Miami, Florida. Cris caught our eye with his first single, Good Girls that was released earlier this year. His EP “Foreword” was released in early June and is available for purchase on iTunes. Cris has always liked hip-hop, so a lot of his music is influenced by the genre. Definite Downloads include “Good Girls,” “Take You Away,” and “Better off Running.”
