After three months of investigation, a Georgia grand jury has indicted rapper Young Vito in the December 2011 shooting death of fellow artist Slim Dunkin. Young Vito, born Vinson Hardimon, has been charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
This is just the first step to a case that has shocked the hip hop community because of the senseless way the murder was committed. According to witness testimony during Hardimon’s first appearance which HHE covered, it is believed that after Mario Hamilton went into a recording booth to record a verse from a song that he was working on, Hardimon barged into the room and began punching on the rapper. After Hardimon was loosing the fight, a weapon was produced and Hamilton was shot and killed.
