Last night, 2012 R&B Crooner of the year, Frank Ocean took to Tumblr to drop the track “Wiseman” that was originally supposed to appear on the Django: Unchained soundtrack, but eventually ended up on the cutting room floor. Django director, Quentin Tarantino made a statement about the song not appearing on the soundtrack saying:
Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort. But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.
Frank didn’t seem too upset about the decision since he posted the caption” django was ill without it” under the song’s link on his Tumblr page. Check out “Wiseman” below.
