It looks like Chicago rapper, Chief Keef won’t be headed to jail as soon as some people thought. According to earlier news reports this week, the 17-year old rapper faced jail time after moving from Southside Chicago to an upscale Northern Chi-town suburb without notifying his probation officer.

Chief Keef is currently on probation for a juvenile gun charge, but yesterday (January 2) a judge denied the prosecutor’s request to have the rapper jailed until his hearing at the end of the month. The judge believed that there was no credible evidence proving that Chief Keef has moved, as his defense attorneys claimed that he hasn’t changed residence, but is just recording at his manager’s house in the suburb of Northbrook. The rapper’s hearing will take place on January 28th.
