The Breakfast Club is shaking up things in morning radio in Atlanta as Streets 94.5 has announced that they signed the syndicated morning show which is based out of New York. The team of Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy start on Monday, March 31st from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Unfortunately long time radio personality Rashan Ali and her team were let go.
Steve Hegwood, the owner of Streetz, told The AJC ,
“The Breakfast Club will fit the station really well. It’s doing really well in Houston, New York and Norfolk. It’s a very tough decision. I love Rashan. She’s a wonderful young lady. I contemplated this for more than six months”
With Rashon Ali’s exit, V-103′s morning show with Ryan Cameron and Wanda Smith is the only local morning broadcast targeted towards African-Americans.
Syndicated personalities now rule as Majic has Steve Harvey; Kiss has Tom Joyner; Praise has Yolanda Adams and Hot has Rickey Smiley. Coincidently, The Breakfast Club is also joining RevoltTV which also airs on March 31st.
