Tahliah Barnett, also known as FKA (Formerly Known As) Twigs, is a songstress, musician and dancer from Gloucestershire, United Kingdom and is supposedly the next big thing in R&B. The Jamaican-Spanish beauty got her start in the industry at age 17, when she was featured as a backup dancer for Jessie J’s “Do It like a Dude” (2010) and “Price Tag” (2011). She has released two EPs in the past two years, Bandcamp (2012) and The Guardian (2013), which FKA Twigs co-produced alongside Venezuelan producer, consultant, mixing engineer and DJ, Arca.
“Two Weeks” is featured on her upcoming debut studio album, LP1, which will be released on July 12th under Young Turks, a British independent record label. “Two Weeks” has a hard hitting bass while successfully experimenting with the sound of modern day R&B. Billboard was definitely right when she was featured as “14 Artists to Watch in 2014”, creating much noise in the indie R&B scene. Share your thoughts.
