Former TV reporter Charlo Greene is now under investigation by the Alaskan Public Officer Commission. The reporter turned activist is now being accused of allegedly using the crowd sourcing funds to advocate a ballot that is intended for marijuana legalization. In September, Charlo quit her TV job and claimed that she already owned a medical marijuana business. After that, Greene started an IndieGoGo online fundraising campaign, which generated over $8,400 in funds.

Feeling that her organization Alaska Cannabis Club should not be under investigation and when asked about the whole situation she says, “If you publish your personal stance on any issue, then this government agency believes they have the authority to ask for emails, bank-account information, all of your records,” said Greene, who believes the commission is unfairly targeting her. “That’s scary.”

Despite the situation revolving around her organization, Charlo Greene continues her marijuana advocacy.
