A coalition of community leaders and celebrities have team up to plan the largest march in the city of Los Angeles’ history for justice and unity.
The Black Leadership Coalition is the brainchild of Rev. Xavier Thompson who is the president of the Baptist Ministers Conference LA and Pastor of the Southern Missionary Baptist Church, also in Los Angeles. The purpose of the Coalition is to have the individual groups who are seeking justice and unity to come together for one common goal.
The march for justice and unity was put together to protest against police violence and brutality. The march will be held on this Saturday, February 21 at the Southwest LAPD police station located at 1546 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Media check-in will begin at 9 AM and the march will begin promptly at 10 AM. People participating in the march will begin marching west on King blvd to Crenshaw, head south on Crenshaw ending at Leimert Park for a rally with special guest speakers.
Celebrity figures participating in the march include Queen Latifah, the Game, Shaunie O’Neal, Russell Simmons, Ro Brooks and more.
