This year will mark the tenth year since Hurricane Katrina came and flooded New Orleans. To honor those lost and displaced in the natural disaster, Lil Wayne will be hosting Lil Weezyana Fest on August 28th.
The show is of course held in New Orleans at Champions Square. The announcement was made on Q93.3FM’s DJ Wild Wayne Tuesday afternoon show. Lil Wayne said,”I’m coming home to give my city a real show for all its support,” he said, and I’m bringing some of my good friends in the industry”.
Mannie Fresh and the Hot Boyz (minus B.G. who is serving a 14 year prison sentence) will be on the stage for the first time in over a decade. Weezy says that he hopes to make it an annual event.
We can applaud Lil Wayne for this, big move for your city and community.
