On the weekend of August 7th The Power Belongs to the People 2015 Summit will take place in Atlanta, Georgia. The summit is sponsored by the New Black Panther Party, Trill Ent., Bad Azz Ent., NCBM, Youth Saving Youth and The Roberts Group. Starting on that Friday there will be an economic empowerment round table consisting of many black leaders in the world of business.
Saturday is a full slate of conversations, with the main course being a round table titled, Responding to the Terrorism on Black America. The table will feature prominent figures such as Dr. Umar Johnson, Fred Hampton Jr. and Minister Sharief Muhammad, representative of Minister Farrakhan.
Sunday will feature a self-defense class in the morning and a discussion on the direction of black liberation theology as well as the role and responsibility of the black entertainment world. That panel will feature Killer Mike, Professor Griff of Public Enemy, Bun B, DJ Greg Street, Webbie and Lil Trill. The night and summit end with a dinner and tribute to Dr. Leonard Jefferies and Professor Rosalind Jefferies.
