On Tuesday night, actor Columbus Short was picked up by bounty hunters and sheriffs during his sound check at a club at Universal Studios City Walk in Los Angeles. Short, who failed to appear in one of his domestic abuse case and the judge issued a bench warrant.
In the clip here, Columbus is seen arguing with the bounty hunters and saying that he was afraid for his life. The bounty hunters also inform him that he is a flight risk.
According to TMZ, Columbus Short’s bail is set at $500,000.00
Almost a year ago to this date, Short was arrested for failure to appear in court.
The former “Scandal” actor Columbus Short made an impassioned apology to a judge while wearing handcuffs and quickly took a plea deal in his domestic violence case when he failed to get his bail reduced.
“I apologize sincerely for missing court,” he told Judge Christine Ewell after flaking on two prior dates in the misdemeanor spousal battery case and getting arrested earlier Thursday on the resulting bench warrant.
“I literally went to Barbados for an HIV charity,” he told the judge in Van Nuys, Calif. “I was between a rock and a hard place: the rock being court and the hard place being Barbados and 2,000 kids waiting for me to get there.”
He promised he wasn’t a flight risk back then but obviously that has proven to be false in light of this recent arrest.
