In part 2 of our 4-part interview with former reality star London ‘Deelishis’ Charles, she warned about the use of social media and how it can have an adverse effect on someone’s life. She pointed out how social medial played a major role in the coverage of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

When Dennis Byron, who is also an Atlanta producer for TMZ wanted to know what she thought about how they covered her story. She praised the way the reporting was done and stated that TMZ is a source she uses regularly while she is doing her morning show on Detroit’s 107.5 Morning Heat.

That’s a machine, you be careful with this social media stuff. That is what I tell my 16-year old. That is a machine, and what you post or put out, even when you delete don’t mean it’s gone baby girl…Social media is like the devil.

As she reflects on the dangers of this new tool for sharing news and information and what it did to Bobbi Kristina. The daughter of R & B icons Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown passed away at the age of 22 this summer after being on life support for months.

This baby wasn’t here to defend herself, wasn’t here to defend her husband or to accuse her husband. But I watched the media just do what they wanted to do with it. They created memes and they create comments, opinions…it’s really like a loaded gun.

When asked about how she felt the coverage by Byron and TMZ was she responded:

I think their intentions were awesome, well I’m a radio personality now so we too have to cover the story. So I’ll tell you like this. When your intentions are good even in error, I think you should come back and correct the things that you later find out were in error.

With TMZ, most of the stories I reported came from there. I used them as a source. So that lets you know I trusted them, I think that they were thorough, I think that they had good intentions and I think that they went the extra mile to make sure that everything that they talked about was authentic. It wasn’t just idle gossip to get people’s attention.
