Screen Shot 2015-12-16 at 2.55.42 PMSome would call this bad timing for Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda if he thought that pharmaceutical boss Martin Shkreli was coming to the rescue and put up that 2 million dollar bond the rapper needed to get released from a Rikers Island jail.

The Daily News is reporting the following:

Martin Shkreli, Turing Pharma’s CEO who bought Wu Tang’s one-of-a-kind album for a reported $2 million earlier this month, was taken into FBI custody early Thursday amid a federal investigation related to his former hedge fund.

Manhattan lawyer Evan Greebel was arrested on similar charges.

While notorious for his work at the helm of the drug company, Shkreli’s fraud charge comes from his previous work leading a biotech firm and a hedge fund.

The 32-year-old is accused of illegally using funds from Retrophin, a biotechnology company he founded in 2011, to pay off debts from his failed hedge fund, MSMB Capital Management.

Both Shkreli and Greebel are expected to be arraigned in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon.

With Shkreli’s own bail problems, he will likely not be able to aid the rapper. He is expected to be arraigned today in a New York federal court on those related charges.
